Using Rulers in the Classroom
Use a ruler to connect a measurement on paper with an object students can handle.
Three classroom exercises
- Measure the sides of a rectangle, then calculate its perimeter.
- Draw the same line in centimeters and inches, and compare the readings.
- Draw perpendicular lines with an L-square or a T-square and triangle.
Choose rulers with the units and sizes required by the lesson. For a class order, list the tool and quantity needed at each desk.
