Build a drafting combination

A registered straight line, plus the angles you use

A T-square establishes the board-edge reference. A triangle rests against its blade to guide perpendiculars and the triangle’s stated angles. Add the second geometry only if your drawing calls for it.

Individually sold tools, not a manufacturer-prepacked kit. A drawing board, paper, pencil and fasteners are not included. Confirm each selection below before adding; changing a size never adds anything automatically.

PRODUCT GUIDE

Choose and use this instrument with confidence.

Register a fixed-head aluminum T-square to a straight board edge for perpendicular drafting.

The standard family offers 12–36-inch blade configurations for everyday drawing-board and pattern-layout work. Match the blade to the span you need while keeping it supported. One selected T-square is supplied; a board, paper, pencil and triangles are separate. Compare the heavy-duty family if you need its wider blade or longer offered lengths.

Choose the right configuration

Catalog options are 12, 15, 18, 24, 30 and 36 inches. This is the offered family range, not a promise every size is in stock. The live selector shows available sizes, current prices and the exact SKU. The family photograph shows the 12-inch tool.

Register the head. Draw along the blade.

Schematic T-square: head rests against the left board edge; blade guides a horizontal line perpendicular to that edge Straight board edge Draw along the blade Keep the head in contact Support the blade and drawing surface

Original schematic. Not a measured product photograph, dimensional specification or certification of squareness.

Use the board edge as the reference

  1. Check that the board edge is straight and the drawing is secured. A bowed or damaged edge is not a reliable reference.
  2. Hold the T-square head against that edge with the blade resting on the work surface. Keep the same registration as you move it.
  3. Draw in pencil or pen along the blade. A triangle can rest against the blade to guide its own stated angles; keep both contact edges seated.
  4. Choose blade length to cover the required drawing span from the board edge without unsupported overhang. A longer blade does not correct an unsuitable board edge.

Need two measured pattern axes without a board-edge reference? An L-square is a different alternative, not the method shown here.

Check the selected length, documented blade/head dimensions, availability, price and shipping at the purchase controls. These tools are not presented as knife/rotary-cutter guides.

Suitable for / not documented for

Suitable for

  • Drafting
  • Perpendicular layout

A T-square registers its head against a straight board edge to guide a perpendicular line. For two measured pattern axes without a board-edge registration, compare an L-square.

Not documented for

  • Tolerance-critical inspection: Accuracy and tolerance are not yet documented for this product family and size.
  • Knife or rotary-cutter guide: No cutting-safe edge specification is documented.

Use these guides for pencil/pen marking. Do not run a knife or rotary blade against a calibrated edge without confirmation that the selected SKU is designed for that use. Slip-resistant backing alone does not establish blade compatibility.
